My drill sargent Marty said to us in class the other day that when a race comes up like a 5k and we have a longer training run scheduled on that day, that we should either run to the race or run afterwards to complete those needed km's no matter what.

When I ran my first 10K, my friend who was training for a marathon ran down to the race (about 10K distance itself), then ran the 10K race (first going SLOWLY with me, then just speeding up and finishing in about 52:00). She probably ran back, too, I can't remember! lol
